Driving out EV range anxiety with improved thermal efficiency

Range anxiety is recognized as one of the most significant barriers to EV adoption within the United States. Multiple studies by HORIBA MIRA show that improving overall thermal efficiency is key to addressing EV range and consequently range anxiety.  HORIBA MIRA’s approach to this challenge is to virtually model the vehicle and its thermal systems to accurately simulate different ambient conditions. These models are used to determine optimal architecture designs and calibrate the control strategies that achieve the best overall thermal efficiency.
